People who want to improve their strength and balance.
6 weeks: 90 minute group sessionsThis proactive program can help you to
maintain/improve your strength and mobility and prevent falls. You will learn
10 exercises you can do at home to increase your strength and flexibility and
tips to avoid falling. The class will also visit 3 community sites where you
can choose to continue to be active on your own for low/no cost.
You can self-refer by calling 403.343.9100 and speak with a Triage Nurse OR obtain a referral from your RDPCN family doctor.
When you self-refer consider having a friend registered with you as this can provide support for positive change.
If you are already seeing a RDPCN nurse, psychologist, mental health counsellor, recreation therapist or pharmacist you can ask them about a referral.
For the classes please wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes that fit well, have good support, have a low broad heels and non slip soles.
We also ask that you bring the name and phone number of an emergency contact person for our records.
